Today being 4/28, we will showcase one of our cars which is a 1965 Shelby Cobra that is powered by a 428 Super Cobra Jet engine, enjoy! – Robbie

 

You are looking at one of the cleanest examples of the Gentry Cobra on the market, with only 4230 original miles. The Gentry Cobra was featured in Road and Track magazine in 1995. and won “THE BEST AT AUCTION” award at Newport Beach. CA in 1995. This car is 1 of 40 produced. and was built to spec based on the Original Cobra. Below is a description of what all went into building this amazing roadster.

ENGINE:  

Original FE Series Ford V8. 428. CID. Super Cobra Jet. Balanced. Dual Carb. LeMans rods Exhaust Seats. Forged Pistons. Ball/Heim Accelerator Linkage. Cast Alum. Valve Covers. Hydraulic Clutch.

TRANSMISSION:

Ford 4 speed top loader, forward mounted shifter

COOLING:

Radiator/5 core, original type coolant tank, electric fan with both thermostat and manual controls

EXHAUST:

Full Tube Headers/side exhaust (headers ceramic treated)

FUEL SYSTEM: 

quick fuel filler cap 20 gal. alum. fuel tank,  spin on canister fuel filter, HD mechanical fuel pump, fuel log, dual carb

OIL SYSTEM:

12 QT. total capacity system dual remote filters Forward mounted oil cooler

BRAKES:

Dual brake system front and rear. 4-wheel disc with hydraulic lock rear parking brake WILWOOD Calipers Neal Racing Brake and Clutch Pedal Assemblies. (Adjustable)

FRONT SUSPENSION:

Modular type with tube shocks, front stabilizer bar, rack and pinion steering, upgraded front disc brakes with vented brake rotors

REAR SUSPENSION:

Frame mounted, independent rear suspension, inboard disc brakes, 4 coil springs over shocks, rear adjustable trailing arms

DIFFERENTIAL:

3.31 ratio

TIRES:

Goodyear racing tires

WHEELS: 

Cast aluminum bolt on spoke type

BODY:

BY GENTRY MOTOR WORKS OF INDIANA. LLC. Hand laid fiberglass. with special HIGH TEMPERATURE RESISTANT RESIN. firewall . cockpit. and trunk are bonded to form a semi-mono construction utilizing a HARD MOUNT system. In various select locations there are hard mount plates molded into the fiberglass body.   This. along with certain reinforced sections of the body create a mono-chassis.   This design helps control and give support to any frame flex.  The fender tops are laid with additional layers to protect against star cracks from rocks and road debris. Original type windshield (chrome Plated Brass)Doors. Hood. Deck Lid. with  LatchesOriginal type Door latches
